The night before

The difference between this year and last year is that I have slept well this week. Today has been focussing on carb loading. Last year I started 24 hours before and felt full of energy, it certainly wasn't the limiting factor so I'm sticking with the same plan.

Between 7-10g of carbs per kilo of body weight.

This morning I weighed in at 70.5kg - 6.5kgs off my post-Christmas weight and about where I had hoped to be.

On the menu today was:

100g of oats with orange juice (80g of carbs) 2 weetabix with milk (36g) Pain au raisin (38g) Banana x 2 (54g) Apple (30g) 1/2 Kg Gnocchi with pesto (170g) Grapefruit juice (20g) Orange (17.5g) 200g Risotto (170g)

I make that around 615g of carbs so between 8-9g/kg of body weight. That might explain why I feel full.

It's getting late. Time to sleep it off hopefully I'll be feeling fresher tomorrow morning.

I only have 2 plans for tomorrow.

The first is to get to the start line for about 9am.

The second is to get to the halfway point no quicker than 1h30m30 seconds....
