Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No - you can self-refer and book directly, whether you're paying privately or using insurance.

Can I book if I'm not sure physio is the right thing?

Yes - email a quick description of the problem first and Toby will let you know whether physiotherapy is likely to help and what the next step could be.

Do you accept referrals from surgeons and GPs?

Yes, and Toby is happy to work to a specific referral or surgical protocol where one's been provided.

Your first appointment

What happens at the first appointment?

It's a 45-minute session covering a full history, an assessment of your symptoms and movement, and hands-on treatment where it helps. You’ll leave with a clear explanation of the findings and a rehabilitation plan tailored to you.

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable clothing you can move in, plus any relevant scans, GP letters, or surgeon's notes. Full details are on the Fees & Insurance page.

How much does an appointment cost?

£80 for a new patient appointment, £65 for a follow-up. Full pricing and insurance details are on the Fees & Insurance page.

Are appointments in person or online?

In person only, at the Tooting Bec clinic.

Do you treat children or under-18s?

No - Fit by Physio treats adults only.

Treatment

Do you only treat sports injuries?

No - while sport and running injuries are a particular focus, Toby also treats general back and neck pain, post-surgical recovery, and everyday joint and muscle problems.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends entirely on the problem - Toby will give you a realistic estimate after your first assessment, based on the nature of the problem and your rehabilitation goals.

Do you offer shockwave therapy?

Yes, focused shockwave therapy is available for longstanding tendon problems. More information is on the Shockwave Therapy page.

Where is the clinic?

54a Trinity Road, London SW17 7RH - a 2-minute walk from Tooting Bec tube station, and around 15 minutes' walk from Wandsworth Common.

Is there parking nearby?

On-street parking is available on neighbouring roads, Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm, using the RingGo app.

Is the clinic accessible?

Yes - the clinic has step-free access.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Wednesday, 8am-7pm. Thursday, 7:30am-11:30am. Closed Friday to Sunday.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule - a cancellation fee may apply for late notice or missed appointments.
